Jeanne Gray (@thegreylayers) caught our attention with her style combining modern and vintage pieces. Based in New York City, she loves breaking the rules of fashion by blurring the lines between what is men’s and women’s fashion. We asked her a couple of questions to get to know her better.
Where does your interest in fashion come from?
I have always been the creative type. Watching my mother run her own brand was amazing. She was a fashion designer. I grew up around stitches and fabrics and fittings and runway shows. I think it's become a part of my DNA and naturally pushed me into having a career around fashion and marketing.
How has your style changed throughout your life?
I kinda fell into it by accident. I used to follow the trends that would come up and dress like everyone else — curbing my own likes (like wearing trousers, men’s blazers, sneakers etc.) Then I realized I wasn’t growing. So I decided to give my own taste a shot. Constantly changing your style is a good thing! It’s a great way to find your own.
How did you become an influencer?
I've always been interested in everything fashion. During my childhood I used to combine pieces and create different outfits. So I decided it would be interesting for me to show the world how I style my outfits on Instagram. Because of my growing audience, I started blogging so that I could influence girls and women from all around the world.
How do you match a bag to an outfit?
When matching a bag to an outfit, I'm always looking forward to a funky, yet stylish look.
Which one is your favorite Savas bag?
I’m addicted to the Evelina bag that, to my mind, is certainly a must-have from Savas Milano!
